About Me
I'm a 19-year-old law student from Finland. I currently live in Rovaniemi, Lapland. If you've been reading my movie diaries, you might be able to guess that I enjoy watching movies - any genre will do, though I do have a particularly soft spot for old science fiction flicks. I also love thoroughly bad movies - nothing is more fun that bashing a pathetic excuse for a film.
Other things I'm interested in include surfing the Internet, programming, Linux and open source in general, poker & some other card games, badminton and tea. Yes, that's right, tea. My favourite blend is Earl Grey, and I prefer it hot. Though I can't say that music is the most important thing in my life, I do listen to it quite a lot. I like progressive music, power metal and rock, but again, almost any genre will do, if the band is good enough - or bad enough.

About Vaihtoehto.org
Vaihtoehto.org is a personal website owned, designed, developed and administered by me, J. Riekkinen. Most of the content is available only in Finnish, but for those who do not speak Finnish, there's the English section. The word vaihtoehto is Finnish for "alternative" or "option". I bought the domain and created the site in December 2005.
Prior to that, I had had a website hosted by MBNet ever since the year 2003. That site was initially called Tarados but was soon renamed to TQ's. Both names originated from my most common Internet nickname, TQeng or the long version Tarados Qeng. TQ's had an English section.
The English side of TQ's included lots of content that you can't find here. Why? Well, I want to uphold a certain level of quality. Most of the stuff from TQ's is obsolete and not good enough to be republished in Vaihtoehto.org. And, the other reason is that I'm too lazy to even check all the content that was on the old site.
While the English section remains quite much empty to date, I always have ideas and plans about cool new content and articles. Only the future will show how much time I will have to implement these ideas or come up with new ones.
Following programs have been used to create the current site version: Quanta Plus and Kate (XHTML, CSS, PHP, text), GIMP (graphics), Konqueror (FTP & testing), Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer (testing).
